Jacob Samuelson, J.D.
Associate Dean of Library and Information Services

Jacob Samuelson is Associate Dean of Library and Information Resources at Wilmington University Farnan School of Law, where he leads the law library’s research, teaching, collections, and technology initiatives. Dean Samuelson is focused on modernizing library services and resources to meet the changing needs of legal education, scholarship, and practice.

Before joining Wilmington University, he was a librarian and Lecturer-in-Law at Boston College Law School, where he designed and taught a three-credit advanced legal research course emphasizing experiential learning, bar preparation, and practice-ready research skills. He previously served as a Reference Librarian and Adjunct Professor of Law at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, teaching first-year legal research, and practiced law in Philadelphia before entering academic law librarianship.

His work includes legal research education, legal technology, and artificial intelligence. In 2026, Dean Samuelson received the American Association of Law Libraries Innovations in Technology Award for Class Action, a free classroom management application he developed for law teachers. He also presents on legal research and serves on the Wilmington University Undergraduate Legal Studies Advisory Board.

Dean Samuelson earned an M.L.I.S. from the University of Alabama, a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Richmond, and a B.A. in philosophy and history from Rutgers University. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania. Before his legal career, he worked as a lifeguard, EMT, and firefighter in South Jersey.
